Sophe's Cafe (& Restaurant) is an Eritrean and Ethiopian cuisine that represents a unique blend of Middle Eastern, East African, and Mediterranean influences. Our dishes are traditionally served on injera, a sourdough flatbread with a slightly spongy texture that serves as both plate and utensil.

Meals are often eaten communally from a single large platter, using pieces of injera to scoop up the various dishes. This tradition represents the importance of sharing and community in Eritrean culture.

At Sophe's Cafe, we're proud to bring these authentic flavours to London, using traditional recipes handed down through generations and cooking methods that honour our Eritrean heritage. "I had such a delightful time at Sophe's Cafe! The food was amazing, especially the firfir and shiro—they were absolutely delicious. The coffee was lovely, one of the best I've had. The atmosphere was so calm and inviting, and the bathrooms were spotless. Rahwa, the host, was incredibly warm and attentive, making the experience even better. Plus, the prices are very affordable compared to other Habesha restaurants. If you're looking for some of the best Eritrean food around, I highly recommend Sophie Cafe.
